WasMyFault is a community where people share their mistakes to help others learn and grow. To keep this space safe and supportive, we ask all members to follow these guidelines.

Be Supportive, Not Judgmental

People share vulnerable stories here. Respond with empathy and constructive advice, not criticism or mockery.

Learn, Don't Shame

The goal is to learn from mistakes, not to shame people for making them. Everyone makes mistakes.

Protect Privacy

Never share identifying information about yourself or others. Use anonymous posting when needed.

What to Post

  • Personal stories about mistakes you've made
  • Lessons learned from difficult experiences
  • Requests for advice about situations you're in
  • Supportive comments and constructive feedback
  • Personal growth stories and how you've changed

What NOT to Post

  • Content that identifies real people (names, locations, workplaces)
  • Illegal activities or content promoting harm
  • Harassment, bullying, or hate speech
  • Explicit sexual content or gratuitous violence
  • Spam, self-promotion, or commercial content
  • False stories intended to manipulate emotions

🛡️ Moderation

All confessions go through a review process before being published. This helps us:

  • • Filter out harmful or inappropriate content
  • • Remove identifying information
  • • Ensure stories are genuine
  • • Maintain community standards

If your post doesn't appear immediately, it's likely in the moderation queue. Most posts are reviewed within 24 hours.

🚨 Reporting Issues

If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it using the report button on any post or comment. Our moderation team will review it promptly.
